Hortus Conclusus

Originally constructed for the Chelsea Flower Show, Swatton Landscape assisted in its rebuild in as a permanent exhibition at the Botanical Gardens in Munich. When creating Hortus Conclusus Christopher Bradley-Hole was inspired by the traditional Islamic enclosed gardens, which is reflected in the clear, calm space.

The garden was awarded a RHS Gold medal and 'Best in Show'

A courtyard paved with grey basalt from Italy is surrounded by hedges and enclosing walls, the accuracy of the stone allowed us to work with the extremely low tolerances in the design which is a feature of Christophers work. The garden is finished with roses planted amongst grasses and a palette of perennials.
